My dining experience at Cafe Azure shattered all of that!! For an elegant yet relaxed meal with wonderful presentation, it is unsurpassed. I understand they have a new chef, and she is wonderful. I had salmon with rosemary and apricots - baked in parchment paper. Superb!!! It was accompanied by broccoli and small delicate cheese quiches. My mother had veal served with an assortment of gingery carrot and other vegetable slivers. Desserts are wonderful!!!! That evening they were featuring a mocha gateau, a lemon gateau, a creme brulee, various sorbets and some other heavenly desserts that sent my head reeling. My mother could not decide between a gateau or a sorbet, but chose a gateau. The waiter very nicely brought her the gateau AND a small scoop of the sorbet to taste. An elegant touch. Now the bill: Yeah, Cafe Azure is slightly more expensive than some other area restaurants, but very comprable for what you get. For a wonderful, relaxed meal to celebrate the end of a Ph.D., to impress a date, THAT place to take parents - Cafe Azure is worth it. Entrees range from $13.50 - (I think) $22.00 (My salmon was $18). Desserts were around $3.75. Salads are a la carte. The wine list looked extensive (we started off with cocktails). Go. The experience is well worth it.
