Article 367 of pgh.food: From: gry+@cs.cmu.edu (Gregg Yost) Subject: Oriental Garden Date: Tue, 28 Jan 92 14:39:58 -0500 The Oriental Garden is a Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant on Penn Ave. in Bloomfield/Garfield near Millvale Ave. I highly recommend it. I have only tried the Vietnamese food. The pho (beef/veg/noodle soup) is very good, and the chicken with lemon grass is excellent. Other things to try are the steam buns, filter coffee with condensed milk, and fruit milk shakes (vietnamese style) made with assorted unusual fruits (durian, soursop, ...). Prices are low and the atmosphere is unusual. It is a very small place, and whenever I've been there the only other people have been oriental. One night, a table full of teenagers was using a microphone to sing along with vietnamese music/picture/lyrics that were playing on a VCR. They also have a clock that chimes on the hour in tones reminiscent of a video game. Odd, but the food is good. --Gregg
