Article 492 of pgh.food: From: hendrix@raman.ece.cmu.edu (Charlie Hendrix) Subject: Thai Place Restaurant Date: Mon, 11 May 1992 16:42:59 GMT I just wanted to give a strong recommendation for the Thai Place Restaurant in Shadyside. I went there Saturday evening with a couple of friends and the food was very good. It was much better than Mai Thai (which, incidentally, is closed now). The food seemed to be more flavorful, rather than just plain hot. Entrees ranged from around $6.50 to as much as about $14. I would say the average price was around $8.50. The appetizers are about $5-6 and they serve alcohol for those who care. Service was quite good. The owner/manager was wandering around making sure everyone was happy. They do have vegetarian dishes and are willing to remove the meat from any dishes if you so desire. For anyone who's interested, Thai Place is located on Bellefonte in Shadyside right off of Walnut St. It's just around the corner from Doc's. It replaced Le Petit Cafe (sp?). --Charlie
