Article 831 of pgh.food: Date: Sun, 17 Jan 1993 15:14:32 -0500 From: "Lynne M. Reder" Subject: good new restaurant I read about the Himalayan/Tibetan (sp?) restaurant on another bboard and also saw their ad in one of the free newspapers and gave it a try. The food was different, but *very good* and quite reasonably priced. They had a wide range of dishes. It was perhaps a bit similar to Thai, Indian and Chinese, but not quite like any of them. We did not have things terribly spicy since one person among us did not want things very spicey. The unusual ingredient was that they used potato in several of the dishes we selected. Try it! It is located on Forbes right across the street from the Parkvale Savings and Loan, several blocks down from the Beehive (same side of the street). ~Lynne reder+@cmu.edu Article 834 of pgh.food: Subject: Re: good new restaurant From: fshst1@cislabs.pitt.edu (Frederick S Hann) Date: 18 Jan 93 15:58:28 GMT In article lr0e+@andrew.cmu.edu (Lynne M. I visited this restaurant with several co-workers (well, fellow grad-students) and we were all quite pleased. If you ask for the food to be spicy, it will be as hot as a reasonable person would like. Furthermore, the price is right (I can only comment on the lunch menu). There were several dishes that had no meat, and a few with only a little (for those who are veg. for their health, not religion). The place is on the Fifth Ave. side of Forbes, just down the hill from the Univ. Pgh. Medical Complex. Fred
